I used to be faithful disciple of Supreme Master Chinghai, initiated in 1989, after 7 years of meditation without any spiritual experience, I still didn’t want to leave her, still continued to join group meditation. Until in 1996, an event happened when China had missiles drill aiming Taiwan to interfere President election, then I started to doubt whether Master was a True Master. (read more...)

Actually, when I was last in the group, my wife and I were researching opening up a loving hut. Here are the facts(relevant as of a year ago). There are no franschise fees or revenue sharing arrangements between the resturant owner(s) and the orginization. However, all decor must fit their image standards with paintings, lanterns and crap, which is a revenue generator for the master. (read more...)

On the meditation and chanting, actually, it's 2.5hrs a day reciting 5 holy names, not her name. The 5 holy names are easily googled and not top secret like they say it is. In addition, for those that attended the Thailand retreat and a few others, there is a chant called "the gift" which is really a bizzare haiku like poem that makes no sense, but its all about belonging to god. But, no, nothing about chanting her name directly. (read more...)

On the disaster relief though, this is usually how it shakes down. In the centers, the contact persons normally make a request for donations for disaster relief, most give checks with blank names in it so whoever could cash it. For the Haiti relief, I do recall it was to be forwarded to the Florida center to purchase supplies. (read more...)
